Drawing Room

The wall panels have been decoratively painted using a trompe l’oeil (literal translation is “trick of the eye”) technique to create the illusion of threedimensional objects on a two-dimensional surface, namely raised center panels and panel gram moldings, exhibiting shadows and highlights.

The lovely mantel in the drawing room is a replica of the one in the President’s Cottage on the grounds of the elegant Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.
